Meet the Founder

Shante Duncan is the founder of Sisters Helping Each other Reach A Higher Height (S.H.E.R.A.H.). She founded S.H.E.R.A.H. on March 6, 2004. Her decision to create a safe space for women, was because she too, was looking for a safe space.

Shante has her BA in Communication from the University of Missouri - St. Louis and was a student at

Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina until her sophomore year.

She has over 15 years non-profit experience working for non-profits such as St. Louis Area Foodbank, Provident Counseling, Almost Home, Magdalene St. Louis, and Center for Women in Transition.

She has over 10 years development experience, working as a grant writer and development director for several of these agencies.

She has also worked in the field of journalism. Shante has freelanced for publications such as The St. Louis American Newspaper, Flipside Newszine and Yandy Smith's Everything Girls Love website. She worked as a three time freelance writer for "Who's Who in Black St. Louis" and Who's Who Diversity in Color". Shante served as the Production Assistant for "The Wake Up Call" with Lizz Brown, a very successful political morning show hosted by the late Lizz Brown.

Shante has successfully worked in the field of politics serving as Field Director and Campaign Manager on several city races.

She is the owner of the Shante' Marie Collection, a blazer and handbag business.

Shante is a proud mother and native of North St. Louis city.
